In today's world,
many people are in a rush to get everything in their lives completed and
finished in a certain period of time. This in many ways has become a normal
habit for many even though it is not a very smart or healthy practice for your
daily life. It is from this mentality that the crash diet had come into
fruition. Although there have been individuals that have gone into these diets
expecting miraculous results, they have been victim to one of the most
dangerous concepts to come along where our health is concerned.
Crash diets promise
you many wonderful results in a short period of time and some of them do
produce those results, but the end results also leave the person feeling weak,
drained and undernourished. This is referred to as the 'crash' which is where
the diets had gotten its name from though it did not dissuade those individuals
from carrying on with staying on the so-called diet they had chosen.
They have achieved the weight loss that they
wanted, but they have starved themselves in the process. The main problem is
that they are always short-lived and will leave the person gaining back the
weight they had lost. The feeling afterward is a feeling of disappointment,
disgust, weakness and self-hate due to the fact that the results did not last.
The problem is not that the person gained the weight back but that they chose a
diet where the end results would be short-lived at best. This leads to
frustration and leads to loss of hope and people giving up on even trying
again.
Over the years,
people have resorted to crash diets to gain fast results without any
consideration for the harm it can cause them in the long run. There have been
diets that have come into fruition that are completely ridiculous yet there
have been people who have fallen victim to believing that they will work for
them. From this practice, some of the most insane crash diets have been
developed and there have been those individuals who had fallen prey to them.
Some of them have resulted in causing some of the worst problems that we still
face today. These problems include alcoholism, bulimia, anorexia and in some
cases there have been people who have died as a result of using these so-called
diets.
Weight loss is
something that takes dedication, commitment and a serious mind. It is not
something that can occur overnight and it must be allowed to take time to gain
positive results. Weight loss programs that promise you miracles that are too
good to be true are precisely that...too good to be true. This will not give
you the body that you are longing to have and you will not achieve your long
term goals this way. Depriving your body of food is a sure way to keep fat on
your body and leave you with absolutely no results whatsoever. Please be
careful in your selection of which diets you choose for your weight loss and
fat-burning program and make sure that you have the discipline to keep
yourselves on track.
